KAMPALA – Uganda’s Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda met Inspecta Africa a Local Oil and Gas Services company to discuss promotion and development of local content in the oil and gas sector.
During the meeting, Rugunda assured Inspecta and its Partners of a good investment climate in Uganda and stressed that it’s government’s policy to encourage local content.
He was happy with the Inspecta’s initiative to partner with Multi National Companies with the aim of transferring technological skills to Ugandans.
The expected local job creation and training will be beneficial to over 2,200 locals. These will include riggers, slingers and oil field engineers.
Inspecta will ensure a transfer of oil field service technologies to Ugandans. The oil industry will need over 13,000 workers when production starts and these shall include welders, engineers, lifters, geologists and truck drivers
